We all know how some translations can be so bad that they’re unintentionally hilarious, like the viral examples from Engrish.com 😂.
Well, did you hear about the time in 1996 when the Hungarian tabloid Blikk interviewed Madonna when she was filming Evita in Budapest?
Seeing that Madonna doesn’t know Hungarian 🇭🇺 and the journalist interviewing her didn’t know English, an interpreter was hired to facilitate communication. The interview then naturally appeared in Hungarian in the pages of Blikk 🗞️.
Later on, USA Today requested a translation of the interview into English and this was the result* 👇🏼 (as voiced by UK comedy legends Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders)
So sit back, relax and listen (or more like, cringe) to this… erm… stellar example of what happens when translation goes wrong 😁.
